Day Camp is an action packed week where Cub Scouts enjoy age and rank appropriate activities including Archery, BB’s, Games, Crafts, and Scout Skills. Rank is based on the grade the Scout will be entering the Fall of 2010.

 

CAMP UNIFORM

Camp T-shirt, Shorts or Jeans with belt loops, Comfortable Shoes and socks NO SANDALS, OPEN TOED SHOES, or CROCS. Cubs and Adults are required to wear the camp T-shirt as part of camp security measures.

 

WHAT TO BRING

Sunscreen, Hat, Water Bottle, Insect Repellent, Backpack, Non-perishable lunch with drink, Poncho, Fishing Gear (Darby Only)

 

LUNCH

EVERYONE (Scouts, Walking Leaders, Staff, and Siblings) will need to bring a sack lunch and a drink each day. 

Caution:  Please do not send anything that can spoil quickly.

Webelos on the 2nd day of each camp bring ramen noodles, canned meat (chicken or tuna) and a piece of fruit or fruit cup.  Two additional bottles of water for lunch in your backpack.

 

WHO CAN ATTEND DAY CAMP?

Any registered Cub Scout going into the 1st thru 5th grade.

Cub Scouts (Wolf and/or Bear) will be grouped together to participate in activities appropriate to those ranks.

Webelos scouts will experience more challenging activities for older cub scouts.

Tiger Cubs are welcome to attend with their adult partner.

 

RESERVATIONS

Your PACK DAY CAMP COORDINATOR MUST make all reservations. 

The Pack is responsible for collecting registration forms, health forms, and fees for scouts/ walking leaders/Tot Lot children and registering them at the Scout Service Center / Neosho District Roundtable.

Registration is due May 6th after that t-shirt cups carabiners and patch are not guaranteed.

If your pack does not have a day camp coordinator, contact your Cubmaster or committee chair or contact the Camp Director.

 

*DO NOT BRING INDIVIDUAL APPLICATIONS TO THE SCOUT SERVICE CENTER.

 

SUPERVISION

Trained adult leaders and Boy Scouts will be the staff. Adults must be at least 21 years old and have a health form on file.

Tiger Cubs must have an adult partner with them at all times per BSA policy.

Walking Leader/Pack Coordinator Training Sessions will be conducted prior to day camp.  This training is required per the National BSA Standards for Day Camp.  Exact locations and times will be announced at upcoming roundtables. 

 

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation to and from camp each day is the responsibility of the parents and the pack committee.  We recommend that you arrange car pools for your scouts.  Please plan to arrive early each day to organize your campsite and check in Scouts, Walking Leaders and Siblings before the opening flag ceremony.

Please plan to arrive at 8:00 am to check in Scouts with their Walking Leader before Flag ceremony.

Scouts will be picked up promptly at 3:30 pm.

 

HEALTH FORMS

EVERYONE (Scouts, Walking Leaders, Staff, and Siblings) MUST submit a signed Health Form Parts A and C with their registration.  These must be kept on file with the Health Officer at camp.  Small children of the Staff and Walking Leader are considered papooses they need a lunch and drink and health form on file.  All medications MUST be checked in with Camp Heath Officer.

 

Twilight Activities

Civitan:  Friday, June 4th at 6:00 -8:00 pm

Families are encouraged to attend

Bring lawn chairs and blankets

Dutch Oven Dinner will be provided

 

Camp Fred Darby:  Friday, June 11

Families are encouraged to camp

Dutch Oven Dinner will be provided

Followed by Campfire Program
